Am I the only one here who loves Vera (Stanhope)? It stars Brenda Blethyn and is filmed in north-east England - gloomy yet breathtakingly beautiful scenery supports the drama. British detective stories have always been close to my heart: Poirot, Miss Marple, Midsomer Murders, and now Vera (Stanhope). More information: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_%28TV_series%29

Prodigal Son - yet another excellent episode of Vera. I saw it during the last weekend. Can't wait to see the next one on next Saturday!

Yet another episode tonight, " Protected"! Last week I saw " On Harbour Street", it was brilliant! Every time I see an episode of Vera, I salute our dear friend Sam. Vera is filmed at locations of North East England - close to Sam (as she told in Couch Potatoes). One of my biggest dream is to go to England to write a novel. Maybe some day I'll follow Vera's footseps in North East England.

Hey Jarkko! I haven't seen a *lot* of episodes of Vera, but of those I have watched I really enjoyed the storyline and the acting. Brenda Blethyn is great and I think she does the Geordie accent wonderfully. I have seen her come under a lot of criticism for the accent but I cannot fault it. My local accent is not easily impersonated so she gets full marks from me.

And it's interesting to know that even Vera's accent is "accurate". You live in such a beautiful place. I have always been very keen on the U.K. - the language, scenery, music, literature, and television shows.

I just watched Vera's 5th season. Kenny Doughty as DS Aiden Healy is brilliant. I prefer him to DS Joe Ashworth. He's a fragile and mysterious character in a fascinating way. I'm really looking forward to see the 6th season!

I'm really looking forward to see the 6th season! I just finished watching an episode or two from Season 6 which recently aired here in the UK, Jarkko. And I agree Kenny Doughty is excellent....and handsome I hope you see 6th season soon. Good to hear a 7th season has been commissioned - it's very popular.

I might have developed a "teenage" crush on him. So nice to hear it's very popular there - it means more seasons! Vera is quite popular also in Finland. The 5th season had circa 0.6 million viewers per episode albeit there are only 5 million inhabitants in Finland. So I guess I'm not the only one here who loves British TV-series. Now I'm really looking forward to see the 6th season!
