For the last several months, I have been sick. Fatigue, weight gain, persistent cough and just overall feeling not good. I honestly attributed part/much of it to job stress. Naps after work, laying low on weekends... it just got to the point where I had had enough.
A visit to the allergist last week confirmed that I am allergic to many things - dust, mold, pollen, trees, dogs, etc. No food allergies, but it all ties in together. I was prescribed a nasal spray and I am taking over-the-counter Allegra to help with the allergies, but there is no relief so far. When I wake up in the morning, I am nauseous for 30 minutes or so because of the drainage that goes on during the night. My voice sounds shot - like I've been at a concert the night before, screaming for four hours.
It's not just frustrating, it's freakin' frustrating (to take a play on Rose's words). This is not me, and I do not like this at all.
Does anyone else suffer from allergies - food or seasonal? How do you handle the day-to-day?

I'm sorry to hear about that, Jim, I can understand what a pain that must be. I'm allergic to pollen, this year has been pretty OK for some reason, but when it's bad I dread going out because of all of the blowing of my nose. I hate doing that in public.

I just wake up and start coughing and hacking... and continue that for 30-60 minutes. It's not a pleasant experience.
I am going to try essential oils - lavender, lemon and peppermint. I've read they can help tremendously, so I will see how that works. Gotta be something!

???I'm an allergic person too Jim! I can't eat strawberries, raspberries or blueberries... eczema is the immediate punishment! Hang on Jim I sympathize!

The only allergy I have is antihistamines.
To everyone who suffers, may I offer a great big hug in sympathy.

I'm on three meds now... Symptoms do seem to have improved, but I hate being tied to medicines. Oh well...
Let's see how things go for the next month or so.
