On September 14, 1985, many of you were not born yet. :)
But, that was a special day for all of us, as it was the night Golden Girls debuted on NBC television. As we all know, the show has garnered numerous awards, been copied by other shows, celebrated by fans worldwide and continues to appear on television.
In trying to build a bit of momentum here on the forums, and to celebrate the 30-years of Blanche, Rose, Dorothy and Sophia, I would like to ask our fans and followers for any ideas of how we can celebrate the year here. Perhaps we go back to our monthly viewings... or change the theme up each month based on the Girls (and the guys) personalities? Do we have a group chat (without the viewing)? Something wild and crazy?
Please think about it a bit, and share any ideas that you may have in the thread. I would really like to celebrate this milestone as a group...
Jim

I love the group viewing! With cheesecake! And maybe a Scandinavian treat or two.

We are here... the 30th is just weeks away.
Could we do a viewing again? On a Sunday... like the good ole days?

I don't think I can make the 30th for a viewing. But often think how cool it would be if we could do a 'chat' - as in audio rather than typing, while watching an episode. The internet is so equipped for that nowadays but the exact method we could use I'm just not sure of.

I think Hangouts is video calling (and regular typing chat) only. Skype does group chat calls, I can install that again if there's enough interest. Would be fun to have a meet up.

Help spread the word on your favorite social media... use the hashtag #GoldenGirls30 to spread the love (and share the cheesecake).

Cheescake has been spread for #GoldenGirls30. Should be a fun topic to follow! As for the virtual meetup, I've been thinking of a Google Hangout event for a while but never went past the thought. Would be a cool public forum (video and/or audio to ones comfort level) and archive on YouTube for others to enjoy later on. I'm in if you guys are going to do it!
Kev!
