Since I cancelled my DirecTV, I have started catching up on my unwatchable DVD collection.
A couple years ago I bought TMTMS on DVD - the entire series. I am almost through the first season, and I am remembering how great this series is. Not only the great writing and cast, but also the humor. I have spotted a few GG guest stars on the show, which is fun to see.
I always thought Mary should have been a guest on GG - she has great delivery.
Has anyone else enjoyed this show?

MTM is in my top five favourite sitcoms of all-time. I have all the DVDs and still watch it when it is on TV. Timeless, and one of those unique shows which seemed to get better as it aged.

I am through the first two seasons (except the last couple episodes). One thing I realize I like is the one-story arc... unlike TGG, where there are often two stories in one episode, TMTMS brings everyone in to one experience.
I am anxious to see Rhoda's transformation - I remember the Beauty Contest episode, and her humor there. Love is all around...

Watching a Season 6 episode - a priest falls for Mary, and considers leaving the church.
Sound familiar? :)

I just watched the finale, and still had a few tears. TMTMS still resonates today with such great writing and cast. I have to say that when Mary moved apartments there was definitely a change in the tone of the show, as she became more "worldly," but there also seemed to be more jabs at Ted, which felt a bit strong. Still, though, a great show.... And amazing that 40 years later all the cast - except Ted - are still around.

I had the honour of meeting Valerie Harper last night and 14 hours later I still haven't come down. LOL The shakes only took a couple of hours to wear off though.

What a thrill - hopefully you got photos! She was giving a talk about her life, and her battle, in Toronto last night which then included a question and answer period with written questions from the audience. Afterwards, I camped out by the stage door to have her sign my Wildcat album, one of her earliest Broadway shows with Lucille Ball. When she saw what I had, she called her husband, Tony, over and they began chatting about the individuals in the album photo, etc., and we had a good two minute-or-so conversation. I can't believe it! Here's a photo of our encounter: http://instagr.am/p/zwEZWmwRbD

That's so cool! Meeting a celebrity you've been a fan of for quite some time us such a rush, isn't it?

Glad Val is out of the hospital and is feeling better.
It made me chuckle though that she's being replaced in her play by Big Sally.
