Thanks for the input! I'm hitting the Salvation Army circuit next week to look for a copy of IT!

Tried two stores yesterday with no luck, plenty of other Stephen King novels though...
The search continues!

Pussycat, I went to another store that sells old books today but couldn't find IT, so I decided to buy Pet Sematary and The Stand instead. I decided to start with Pet Sematary, I've read about 30 pages so far and am really liking it, Stephen King sure can set the scene! I'm really loving the character of Crandall. Haven't seen the movie in ages and remember very little, so I'm going to enjoy reading the book very much, I believe.

Pet Semetary is a good book - Stephen certainly knows what to write to get your attention! Btw, remember Fred Gwynne (The Munsters)?
My head was spinning from the movie of The Stand. The book is amazing, but very long; there are two versions: one's about 800 pages (or thereabouts), and the other one is the Complete And Unabridged version which extends to about 1000 odd pages.

Really? I have no idea which one it I have since it's the translated version. Is the 800 page version the "original" and an extended one was released later?

Is anyone else excited for " Go Set a Watchman," from Harper Lee? It's a bit of a sequel to one of the best books ever written - " To Kill a Mockingbird" - but GSaW was written before TKaM. My copy is due to arrive today, and I have tried to avoid much of the news and reviews so far so I can enjoy the book without any outside input.

I found a short audio interview of Harper Lee from 1964. It's nice to hear her thoughts on "To Kill a Mockingbird."

i have read all (so far) the janet evanovich series Steph Plum great series if you like trashy sexual tension and crime solving Your post made me laugh out loud! I’m a fan of the series as well, although for some reason I couldn’t get through 24. I abandoned it half way through. The Ranger - Joe Morelli yo-yo gets old sometimes. Over the winter I picked up Joanne Fluke’s Hannah Swenson murder mystery series (which I recently learned are a genre called Cozy Mysteries). Hannah owns a bakery in a small Minnesota town and solves murders, each book has a bunch of recipes included. I’ve read them all now but it’s totally a love-hate relationship with those books and that character (does and says absurd things than no one would ever really do or say, stupid love triangle). So many times I swore I wouldn’t read another, but then downloaded the next in spite of myself. I think I liked the recipes the most- I’ve even made a few and her chocolate chip cookie recipe is awesome!
