According to this article, footage from the pilot was cut and re-shot to include less of Charles Levin's performance as Coco because it was five minutes too long. I wonder if any of the unused footage still exists?

If it does, it has never surfaced... which is a shame.

However, Golden Girls came out before DVDs, the internet, and really even video rentals... so the idea of releasing that unused footage didn’t really exist.

We have a few blooper reels to enjoy, but if it hasn’t appeared by now in some form, it’s likely lost to the ages.

A fan of quality, classic television comedies and holiday specials...

The Golden Girls, The Facts of Life, Roseanne, Will and Grace, The Wonder Years, Burns and Allen, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Are You Being Served?, Family Guy, South Park, Designing Women, Dallas, The Twilight Zone, Original Scooby-Doo, Murphy Brown, The Big Bang Theory...

We've been Lucky to have all the seasons on dvd but Truth being told the extras were quite poor... maybe in a future blueray release....
