I loved Maude. the jokes were timeless. I still watch today. Bea did an amazing job at putting topics such as abortion, alcoholism and pill dependency. it may not have aged well but you have to say that this is where Bea's Legacy started.

I hadn't noticed characters shouted so loud so much and so often on the show or at least it didn't bother me until now lol! I wonder why but that's a fact when I watch an ep I feel like I'm... I don't know where exactly! I'm I getting older, crancky or what? Anyone feeling the same way? They screamed a lot. I'm assuming because they hadn't perfected the boom mic in the 70s. I remember I was watching the show one night and someone actually came over to the house and told me to turn the tv down. lol.

I've never jumped on the "Maude" bandwagon... does anyone know if the series is available on streaming services (Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, etc.)?

I learned about Maude near the end of 2020, and started watching reruns of the show on Antenna TV. Before I started watching Maude, I'd only seen Bea on Golden Girls. I thought she was a good actress in playing Dorothy, but didn't like her very much because of the intimidating presence she had. Once I saw her in various Maude reruns, I began to like her more and thought the show was great. On Christmas Day that year, I got the complete series and watched the DVDs as much as I could. I loved Maude Findlay already from reruns, but starting at the beginning helped me like her even more. It was wonderful to see Rue and Bea together in the 70's, and I loved the chemistry they had. As I finished the series, I was sad to see it end the way it did. I didn't like the idea of Maude becoming a congresswoman, and was glad Bea felt the same way. Overall, I adored Bea afterwards, and appreciated how great of an actress she was. She had so many great performances in those episodes, that I feel are quite overshadowed by her performance as Dorothy. While Golden Girls was obviously greater in popularity and longevity among fans, I still consider Maude to be a historical show in television, and Maude remains my favorite Bea role. I think that's because I liked seeing Bea in more of a leading role, and it speaks volumes to how good her acting was. I always remember her by her deep voice, tall height, delivery of a line, and the facial expressions. Bea was, in my opinion, the best actress ever when it came to comedy. She could put all of those features and talents together, and it made her a legend in whatever genre she was working in.
