I was just reading through this thread, and I noticed some smilies were not working. I realized that commentors had not added a space between the smilie and the colon ":" in the photo. If anyone ever noticed their smilies aren't working in a post, check to make sure it does not read "blah blah blah :smilie s:blah" but rather "blah blah blah :smilie: blah"  |

Is anyone else experiencing an issue with the forum? Specifically, being redirected to an ad, without clicking anything?
I visit the forum on my iPad, and I have had a few times where I go to a page, and suddenly I am taken from the browser to the iTunes Store to purchase an app. I have never clicked on a link, just pages, so I wonder if it's the forum in general, or something with my iPad.
Please let me know...

Yeah I've had the redirect to the app store too, which is why I don't visit via iPhone/iPad as it's a bit frustrating.

Hey all...
I'm not sure if I am doing enough to keep conversations engaged. Or, perhaps I am doing too much by putting posts and information out all the time.
I know we stalled a bit at Couch Potatoes, and I'm trying to keep at least a forward momentum going here. I have tweets out, directing people to our forum... I post pictures and videos, but haven't seen much comment on those... I see people commenting in the Shout Box, but not on the forums.
I know things have quieted down from the "old days" of DVD releases and the losses of our ladies, but I'm still hopeful for some fun around here.
Please tell me what I can do to help make your experience here more enjoyable and more interactive. I'm at a loss.

It's summer Jim. People are travelling. I'm in San Francisco myself right now, after being in Toronto for a week, New York State for two, New Brunswick for a week and Eastern Ontario before that. Oh yeah! And New York City before that...
Sorry I've not been posting much.... but when I'm home in a week, I promise I will return to posting.

I get the feeling everything has already been tried Jim! I don't have a clue about what to do next I'm just as lost as you are... You're doing a great job you really are but I guess there's not much we can do... Maybe another guessing game like posting a video and let people guess which GG episode the video is from...

Thanks for the comments, Ian and Nougi.
It just seems that I am spinning my wheels on the forums. I have tried to find videos and photos to share, and get minimal feedback. I see that we have 140+ guests in a 24-hour period, but no comments or thoughts (despite the fact that our forum provides for guests to post without registering).
I know all the excitement from the DVDs and the four ladies has virtually passed, and Betty is our last genuine connection to the series. But I would also hope that our members would take a few minutes - even once a week - to go beyond the Word Relation Game or a quick "that's nice" post.
I'm just trying to determine if I am not doing something, or if there is something to add/change from the forums to create more interaction.

Jim, you are doing a wonderful job already! As Ian said, summer is crazy. I'm trying to be more active in the future (btw, is the correct expression: "in future" or "in the future"?). And Christmas, and all the fun is approaching!

Hey Jim! You do a phenomenal job- it's definitely not you, or something you're doing/ not doing. I've been missing this place and commit to getting back in the swing of things! Day to day life often gets in my way (I'm so tired by the end of the day I can't put three words together for a decent post) but coming on here is always a little like a mini vacation from the real world. Don't get discouraged! We love ya!!! ps- is it too early to get exc ited for the Christmas Card exchange?  |
