I've written about the show on these forums for about a year and a half now, and I've given my opinion on episodes, on the ladies, the accomplishments and the award wins, no show deserves more of a watch then Golden Girls, now more than ever. But what goes into my mind when I write a post like this? I look at my previous posts and read them in depth, give myself at least 10 minutes to prep and write. But sometimes ideas don't come to me that easily, its taken a while but I will write about what I think is best for now.
The Episodes I Didn't 'dissect'-
As many people would know, I have dissected some episodes of the show, including The Heart Attacks, The Operation, the pilot, the finale, 72 Hours and many more. But what about those I didn't write about? Well it comes down to, 'Do I want to watch it again?' and sometimes it is valid to think about. I think that it all comes down to interest. Because I will admit that some episodes of the show I purely didn't like. I always in my own opinion thought that season 5 was one strange season and always thought the two part season final was downright weird. There were many weird episodes, but sometimes those episodes those weird ones were some of the best. But never fear I will get to it one day and I will dissect some more episodes.
Why I Always Talk About The Award Wins-
I always talk about the wins because the show did a lot of things. They created history and are among another 2 shows where the main cast all won an emmy award, not many shows can they that they did that. Golden Girls award wins mean so much. It also meant so much to those involved the cast thanking each other during their acceptance speeches and they made sure they mentioned each other and their crew. The series wins in a lot ways meant a lot for comedy.
The Legacy I Always Say-
I always talk about the legacy of the Golden Girls, and there is a reason for that, because now more then ever has the show been more relevant. The show has stood the test of time and it makes it the more easier to know what has happened in the last couple of years, with the DVDs coming out, the board games and the cereal. The legacy of the show, factoring in the award wins and the legacy of all 4 ladies. Betty giving it her all in her career, as well as Bea, Rue and Estelle giving more than 110% in their careers, Rue ended up with over 100 acting credits to her name and the three working extensively in theatre for most of their lives, and gave everything to make people smile
Why I Take So Long Too Write-
Sometimes it takes a while for me to write on the forums, and its not for lack of interest, but its because it's easy to run out of words or ideas. I do ask on twitter, and sometimes I'm just out and about living life. But I have always enjoyed sharing my love of the show and my love of some of the episodes and reading comments. I have loved it for so long and it makes it so much more interesting when I read the comments of something like this.
