Too say this feels wrong is an understatement, to write it means that its final. But I needed to write this. For all our sakes. Because through the laughter and tears Betty was such a treasure.
I don't really have the words to put into place how the world can handle the loss of a massive force like this. Funny since I spent a good amount of 2021 writing for my job, but this hits differently. It always does.
Betty passing away leaves a hole in the world that cannot be filled or replaced.
The Golden Girls are back together probably watching over us now, with Betty finally in Allen's arms surrounded by years of losses and years of heroes, her friends and those we've lost along the way..
Learning of Betty's loss this morning floored me, not because of how sudden it seemed but because after a year of losses you'd think 2021 would depart peacefully. But alas it didn't.
Betty was at heart an animal lover first, actor second, but with an amazing resume that will never. ever be forgotten.
Rest easy Betty, tell the girls we said hi.

It feels so odd to say “goodbye” to someone I never met. Everything has been on television and film… so nothing there has changed.
Maybe the fact that nothing new will come from Betty is what makes me sad. And the fact that she IS the history of television… no one can ever replace her.
