A great sitcom from 1979 to 1988, following four young ladies through school and into their adult lives. The last "reunion" was in 2001, when a tele-film aired over Thanksgiving weekend. But, there is a Hallmark tele-film airing this Saturday featuring "Blair" and "Tootie" - Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields! It's titled For Better or For Worse. You can read more here...

Never seen this show, but it has been referenced to much in other shows and movies that I would like to, one day. Don't think it ever aired here in Sweden.

You can jump in anywhere, and get the basic idea. The storylines were all summed up in each episode.
Here's a fun one...

I saw the DVDs recently. I may pick them up. Have all seasons been released?
I did love the show, even through all its changes.

All nine seasons are going to be released in 2015, thanks to Shout Factory.

Just saw the entire series for sale this week at a local HMV. Should I?

Tootie (aka Kim Fields) is on "Dancing with the Stars" this season...
Nice work in the premiere episode!

I bought the complete series on DVD, and I'm about halfway through it.
One of the things I noticed in seasons 2-4 was the number of intense episodes. Natalie's father has an affair... Blair's mother has cancer... Tootie's brother drinks-and-drives... Jo's father's incarceration... Mrs. Garrett's handling of all these crises...
Yes, it was a fluffy little sitcom, but it also lasted nine years and over 200 episodes. It brought some great writing to the screen (remember, Norman Lear was involved in creating this series as a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes). The acting was really good once the first season was complete - it's made for good television and catching up.

Kim Fields, aka "Tootie" from "The Facts of Life" and "Regine" from "Living Single," is releasing her biography in November. Remember she also appeared on "Golden Palace" as Don Cheadle's girlfriend. You can pre-order and read an excerpt here.
