Hi Everyone What are your thoughts .
I was thinking about the girls sexual ethics. 1. They were from a generation where it was the norm not to have sex before marriage - Blanche and Dorthy did 2. They were religious - Dorthy & Sophia were Catholics and Blanche was a baptist and rose was a Protestant. And they still had sex outside of marriage in their older age , not very Christian is it ? 3. You see what I'm getting at right ?

I think the ladies sexuality was shared because, at the time (1980s), it was very uncommon to hear women "of a certain age" discuss those intimate details. Allowing these four to be as open and frank as they were - with a touch of humor - made for a lot of doors to open and attitudes to change.

The Golden Girls is (also) about emancipation.
