There's a bit of rumbling today that Alex Trebek will soon be retiring... and he's already selected his replacement.
I haven't followed Jeopardy regularly for some time. One of my high school teachers made it to the top three in one of the tournaments a few years ago... it was awesome to see him do so well.
Although "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek isn't leaving the show anytime soon, he's already thought about who would be a good replacement.
During an appearance at New York's 92nd Street Y center, Trebek talked about who would be a good fit to take over his hosting gig.
“It’s probably going to be a woman, somebody younger, somebody bright, somebody personable, somebody with a great sense of humor, so I nominated Betty White," he joked.
He then mentioned some more serious candidates, including CNN's Laura Coates, LA Kings announcer Alex Faust and TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz.
"There are so many talented people out there that could do the job," he added.
Although Trebek took medical leave from the show in Jan. 2018 and hinted at retirement during an interview withTMZ's Harvey Levin on Fox News Channel's “OBJECTified,” in July 2018, the beloved host put viewers at ease by renewing his contract through 2022.
