... hoping for good things. I applied for a job out of state, and hope this is the start of a major life transition. Cross your fingers that Tennessee becomes home in 2015!
EDIT - 45 minutes after this post, I checked my email to see the request for an interview. Come on, baby!!

Good luck, Jim! Tennessee seems like such a cool place. Isn't a lot of bourbon made in Tennessee?

Happy, stressed, a bit sad.
The company I've worked for on and off since 2008 AND a new company I started working for last year both went bankrupt late last year, so I applied for a program at school that I don't really know the translation for in English. Nurse aid maybe. Today I got word that I had been accepted. It's three semesters long and then I'll be a qualified nurse aid or whatever it's called, which will open a lot of doors financially. My wife went to the same school and the same training and has been working steadily ever since.
I'm happy I got in, but it will also add a lot of stress in my life since I have a newborn baby that I have to help take care of, which includes long nights. The sad part is that I'll miss him because I will be away from him up to 8 hours a day, starting just two weeks after he came into this world. I'm also sad for my wife who is facing a harder time, physically and emotionally now that I won't be there as much as I otherwise would have. Thank God she's a strong woman.
I will be able to become a personal assistant or taking care of the elderly at an old folks home, to name a couple of options with this education. There's lots of job opportunities in this field in Sweden, because a lot of older people who worked in this field are retiring and it's not a popular line of work for my generation. Me, I think it's one of the most noble jobs out there, a thankful job that is also good for the soul. My mom worked at an old folks home and my aunt still do. I remember as a kid, hearing my mom tell stories to my grandmother who was babysitting for us when she worked nights, about all the compliments she got from the people she helped.
I'm looking forward to feeling good about myself every time I go off to and leave work.

You're having mixed feeling Anders that's normal considering what you're going through lately but tell yourself all that is what you are looking forward as personal achievements!!! I wish you and your family all the best!

......mostly tired from staying up way too late the past 2 nights watching TGG's on Hallmark. And then, right next door on Hallmark Mysteries, at the same time, is Murder She Wrote. So I flipped back and forth until 1 am two nights in a row. Today was rough! Even though I've seen every episode a billion times, I can't resist!

Tonight Im mostly sitting around waiting for the snow storm of the century (I exaggerate a little) to hit my region. We've gotten such conflicting forecasts for two days. One news outlet says probably only 3-5 inches, another one says 9-12, possibly up to 20. So far it's barely a flurry out there and seems to be a bust. But I just opened a bottle of wine so I'm really hoping for lots of snow and no work tomorrow! Come on, snow!

Do you have a generator if the power goes out?

It's been crazy! No one knows what to expect. No generator so hoping it doesn't get to that point. The worst will be just north and west of us it seems, but in DE we rarely see the amounts they're calling for. Hard to imagine a coming blizzard when there's not much happening yet. But we're fully stocked with shovels, food, beer, and books! Philly (where I work) is already telling people to stay home tomorrow and I think PA has called a state of emergency in advance of what may come. We shall see!

I can't imagine what the snow levels must be like. Stay safe!!
