... excited about heading up the forums, and seeing the interaction in our new home. Of course, this is entirely going to happen on all the interaction with the members here. I hope everything pays off!
Copying and pasting tonight... so much history from our old home... but it's on to the next chapter!

Today I am EXHAUSTED! I helped my mom move from her apartment in to a new one. I am also a bit sad, she lived in that same apartment for close to 30 years and I lived in it for 22 years. It will always be home for me.
With that said, her new apartment is cosy as hell. Old wood floors and a tile stove (doesn't work, but it's nice to look at).

My parents have lived in the same house for over 46 years... my whole life. I can't imagine what it will be like when Dad passes (Mom passed last year) and we sell that house. I'm going there for a visit next week. I've lived in my apt here Toronto for over 20 years, and yet I still call Dad's place "Home". It's nice to have two homes.
T,IA...annoyed. I went to bed too late, woke up too early, went to IKEA for $1 breakfast (I had two - LOL) and to buy some things, which of course they had none of. Three of my errands ended up fruitless.

Breakfast at Ikea? What do they serve? I have never been to one of their stores.
I get the "home" reference for sure. My mom has been in her house nearly 40 years, and she is hoping to sell in the next year or so. While I will be sad, I think it will be great for her to start new - no more random cable wires in the walls, stairs to navigate, etc. My mom still does really well, but still...

Ian: 1 dollar breakfast, what the...? We don't have those here, and we're the home of IKEA!
FP: You haven't been to an IKEA? That feels like quite an achievement!

Today I'm feeling pretty excited. Me and a couple of friends have started our own little film club. Once a month, one of us host a movie night with a certain theme decided by the host, usually it's three movies, but there's no limit to how many movies you want to show when you're hosting. Today is my second time hosting and the theme for my movie night is called "'Hitch' N' Tippi'". We will be watching the two movies Alfred Hitchcock directed with Tippi Hedren, a model he personally picked out to become his new leading lady. The two movies are The Birds and Marnie. We'll close off the night with a TV-movie made by HBO about their very troubled and much talked about relationship, called "The Girl".
Really looking forward to it, there'll be a bunch of snacks and drinks to be had during all three movies.

My parents are moving from the apartment I spent most of my childhood. They've been living there circa 35 years. I am also a bit sad, so many memories in those very rooms. But mostly I'm happy for my parents. Now they can have a fresh start in a new environment. They will also have a sauna in their new home, which is more than nice. thumbup

A sauna, Jacques? Why am I not surprised 35 years in one apartment is a very long time. Did they change towns as well?
