A sauna, Jacques? Why am I not surprised  35 years in one apartment is a very long time. Did they change towns as well? Yes, a Finnish sauna. It sounds rather stereotypical, doesn't it. It's very common here to have a sauna in one's apartment. No, they won't change towns as well. So at least some of my childhood scenery will remain the same.

Yes, talk about the end of an era...
Today I'm getting more and more pissed off at my laptop that I've been having problems with over the last week. It keeps freezing on and off again with no warning. I will have to bring it in to get it fixed, which will be the THIRD time in less than two years. Man, laptops SUCKS!
I'm still happy I got it though, since it freed up some space here at home.

Sad to know that Couch Potatoes is going offline in just a few days... It is sad......must be even harder for those of you who have been such a huge part of it and really gotten to know each other over the years. Change is hard.

It is sad......must be even harder for those of you who have been such a huge part of it and really gotten to know each other over the years. Change is hard. As I told Sam, about 1/4 of my life has been on those/these forums. Lots of history in those posts for sure. I feel like it's a diary I didn't know I kept, and now it's getting ready to be erased... and I need to copy down everything as fast as I can. Glad to have these forums, though. My hope is that we can remain in contact, even as a smaller group, and keep the friendships and chatter going.

Today I'm LOVING the new banner for the forum! Looks great, fresh, awesome! I LOVE IT, TOO! It's all done with best possible taste (as Kenny Everett would say it). I'm leaving for a 4 days vacation tomorrow morning. This is the town (Rauma in Western Finland) I'm heading to: ![]() Be nice to each other!

Looks like a typical summer town, with a cosy setting and old buildings. Am I close?
Have a nice vacation!

Today... I am soooo excited to finally get to tell everyone that me and my wife are having a... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've been dying to have one for such a long time now and decided to start "working on it" earlier this year. Before we really got to work, we wanted to make sure we were able to have kids, so that we could relax and not worry too much if we didn't get pregnant right away. When the doctor was doing his check-up on my wife, he said that everything looked like it should, then all of a sudden said "Wait a minute, I see something here... You're pregnant!" I was out in the waiting room, basically praying to God everything would go smooth, and out comes my wife with a smile I've never seen on her before and a polaroid in her hand. I was so shocked and choked up almost right away, I couldn't believe it - I still can't! Come December, I'm going to be a dad for the first time! This is the first place I decided to share this news with online, there was never any other choice. I'm so happy!

With it being August, and a December arrival, you definitely have things to quickly accomplish. Of course, I would dive into jokes about birthing centers and coaches, but I think right now it's simply a big CONGRATULATIONS!
