Yesterday on Twitter we were asked the name of the dog from the " Joust Between Friends" episode. This is the episode where Dorothy works with Blanche at the museum, but also where Rose finds a stray dog and brings it home (despite Dorothy hating dogs).  To answer the question - the dog never had a name, as far as I can find. However, it did make me wonder about the different animals who made appearances on the show over the years. Of course we have Dreyfuss, from Empty Nest, who appeared several times. But what other animals (names, types, etc) do you recall from the show? |

The dog who played the stray on Golden Girls, Season 2: Episode 9, “Joust Between Friends”, name is Inky. That’s all the info I have been able to find. I haven’t been able to find his breed, owner, age, etc. 🤷🏼♀️ He is beautiful and I would LOVE TO have a dog like him whenever I am ready to add another family member to our household.

I found this thread as I was looking for this dog's info when I saw the episode today. I've only found his imdb info saying he's named Inky- that's all. He was not the dog from Married with Children, who was a Briard. When I first saw him I wondered if he was a Lowchen (like Freeway on Hart to Hart) but he seems too big. I would guess that he is a mix. He looks a lot like my late dog, who was a Havanese/Wheaten mix. However, the Havanese was extremely rare in 1980's US.

The dog on Golden Girls was called Inky the dog and was a briard. Buck Bundy on Married with Children was actually named Buck and was also a Briard. They do look alike but are not the same dog!
