The actor who played the plumber ("You have to be a man, for God's sake!") delivering the toilet for the girls to install ("No, ma, it was a little girl selling Girl Scout Toilets!") is the same actor who is the clown, Mr. Ha Ha at the kids' birthday party that includes Dorothy.

The actress who played Sophia's friend contemplating suicide was also the woman Rose encounters in the train station who left her home to visit her daughter's grave in the Mother's Day episode.

I just made this connection...
In the episode with Bob Hope, the magician is also... Sophia's roommate who called Dorothy "Tommy's boy!"
Mind. Blown.

George Grizzard played both Jamie (Blanches brother in law) and George (Blanches husband).. Bea Arthur played both Dorothy and Sophia’s mother.. there were many instances of one actor/actress playing multiple roles on the show.. as well as many story errors.. for example.. when Blanche met Rose for the first time, Rose had a cat I think named Mr Peepers, and in the episode where Rose was addicted to pain pills, she said she was grieving the death of her beloved cat fluffy and Dorothy said, “you’ve never had a cat rose, you’re allergic”..
