Last night, I saw Bill Murray's new movie "St. Vincent." Charming, sweet story, but the highlight was seeing Bill Murray watch The Golden Girls in one early scene. The 'Ladies of the Evening' episode, to be specific.

The 'Ladies of the Evening' episode, to be specific. Aww, spoiler alert That movie looks promising, love Bill and love Melissa. Can't wait for its release in Sweden! It's holiday movie times at my place so I've been watching a lot of those kind of movies, such as: Christmas With the Kranks The Santa Clause 1 & 2 The Grinch

I wish I had seen Grease but trying to watch the movie for me is definately like Dorothy trying to see Franck Sinatra in concert :laughing1:everytime I try something goes wrong! I wanted to burn it to dvd yesterday as it was aired on TV and I was too tired to watch but when my recorder turned on I had "the NO SIGNAL" error displayed! So no recording no nothing! My last chance will be what they now call catch up TV! :rant:My 4 years old nephew loaded a dvd by himself while I was eating my Christmas buche on Christmas Day I bet he pushed a wrong key or something Edit : No replay available for the movie that's it I'll never see Travolta dance for me on my TV screen!

Saw Gone Girl today. After all the hype about how good it's supposed to be, I guess I just expected too much. I thought it was ok but can't figure out why people have been raving about it. The actors were great, the story was interesting but it just didn't do much for me. I'm still not entirely sure why- been trying to put my finger on what didn't work for me. Anyone seen it with a different experience?

Tammy. I thought it was very funny, much better than The Identity Thief, which was a disappointment IMO.

Watched Hero and the Terror, an 80's Cannon classic starring Chuck Norris. Not one of my favorites with Chuck or even his output with Cannon Films, but still good.

I feel like someone already mentioned this a while ago but, I watched Nebraska today with Bruce Dern. In one scene, everyone is in the living room watching t.v. and an episode of The Golden Girls can be heard playing in the background. I got so distracted trying to hear the girls I missed the whole movie scene! Overall Nebraska was a good movie- I love Bruce Dern, Will Forte and Bob Odenkirk- but it was seriously depressing.

I remember hearing that as well, Paula... Not sure if it was here or at our previous Couch Potatoes address.
Did anyone watch the Oscars last night? I thought I could catch an online stream, but was never able to find one. I did hear it was somewhat "ehhh," but I always like to see the tributes and flashbacks to past winners. I did hear Lady Gaga did really well with a tribute to "The Sound of Music."

I watched the Oscars, always do. It was an OK show and Neil Patrick Harris was a competent host. Was absolutely thrilled Eddie Redmayne won Best Lead Actor for The Theory of Everything, I loved the movie and he was just phenomenal.

I missed the Oscars, but did see the clip of Lady Gaga singing the tribute to "The Sound of Music." She definitely impressed me!

I watched an old favorite this weekend... Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy in "Desk Set." The film is set in 1950s New York City, on the verge of technological advances and the computer age. Not too deep, but there are some great moments (love the Christmas party scenes).
The film is on YouTube - here is the first segment.

I haven't seen that one, but I love them in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
Last movie I watched was Road House. What a gem of an 80's action cheesefest, one of the best!
